On 15 March, Heng Xamrin, the president of the National Assembly (NatAss), had decided to remove opposition leader Sam Rainsy’s rights as MP from Kampong Cham for the 4th legislative mandate, starting immediately.

Regarding this issue, Yim Sovann, the SRP spokesman, indicated on Wednesday morning that there is no surprise in this move, it is the ruling CPP’s strategy to weaken the opposition party. However, even if Sam Rainsy’s is absent from Cambodia, SRP party officials are still putting effort to move the party forward.
